Rawcliffe's charity bonfire is Saturday 7 November, adults £12.50 and on sale now. Plus Poppleton, Rufforth and every other York bonfire night 2026 date.
York’s main bonfire night is Saturday 7 November 2026 at Rawcliffe Bar Country Park, and tickets are on sale now: £12.50 for adults and £7.50 for children, plus a booking fee. It opens at 4pm, with a children’s display at 5.30pm and the main fireworks at 7.30pm.
Bonfire night itself, 5 November, is a Thursday this year. Poppleton holds its display on the night; Rawcliffe and the new commercial show at Rufforth Airfield both go on the Saturday. Autumn Lights at Elvington has not announced a 2026 York date.

Rawcliffe fireworks 2026: times and tickets
The fire service’s TicketSource page lists the event as Saturday 7 November 2026, 4pm, with a children’s display at 5.30pm and the main display at 7.30pm. There are two ticket types:

Those are up from £10 and £5 in 2023 and 2024. The ticket page does not say whether under-5s go free, as they did in those years, so check before you book for a baby or toddler.
YorkMix, which hosts the night, gives a fuller running order in its bonfire night round-up: gates open at 4pm for families, with no big rides until 5pm, then to everyone at 5pm. The bonfire is lit after the children’s display and the main fireworks follow at 7.30pm. Expect a funfair, a raffle, food stalls and a licensed bar.
It is not a council event. The display is run by fire service volunteers and every penny goes to The Fire Fighters Charity; the 2025 night raised £41,936.51, according to YorkMix. In 2021 the fire service called it the most successful fundraising event it had ever run in North Yorkshire, with over £60,000 raised, and admitted the crowd had caused problems with parking and getting people in.

Where it is and parking
The display is in Rawcliffe Bar Country Park, off Shipton Road (A19), YO30 5XZ, next to the Rawcliffe Bar park and ride, which is the venue name on the ticket page. Neither the ticket page nor YorkMix says whether the park and ride car park is open for the evening, so do not count on it. The fire service has said in past years that parking was the night’s biggest problem; walking or cycling from Clifton or Rawcliffe is the safer bet. Check the roadworks and travel page before driving.
Poppleton: Thursday 5 November
The Poppleton Bonfire and Firework Spectacular is the one to go to if you want fireworks on the night itself. It is at the Poppleton Centre on Main Street, Upper Poppleton, YO26 6JT.
- Times: gates 5pm, bonfire lit 6.15pm, fireworks 7.15pm, ends 9pm.
- Tickets: £12 adults, £6 children aged 5 to 16, under-5s free, booked through the centre’s own site.
- Getting there: the No 10 bus from the city centre stops outside, and Poppleton station is about a 15-minute walk. A free shuttle runs from Poppleton Bar park and ride (YO26 6QF) from 5pm, last bus to the event at 7pm, last bus back at 9.15pm.
Rufforth Airfield: Saturday 7 November
Sky Magic Events has moved its York Firework Spectacular to Rufforth Airfield East, Wetherby Road, YO23 3QA, about six miles west of the city centre; the event page carries a “venue change” notice. It is on the same night as Rawcliffe. Tickets on its shop run from £5 to £15 across adult, child (16 and under) and a VIP drive-in parking permit, which is parking only and still needs an entry ticket for everyone in the car. YorkMix lists it from 4.30pm; Sky Magic’s page does not give times.
Is there an Autumn Lights York in 2026?
Not yet. The Autumn Lights York page still shows the 2025 show at Elvington Airfield (Monday 27 October 2025) marked “This event has now passed”, and the home page says “2026 Tour Locations coming soon!”. Last year’s prices were £16.99 adult and £8.99 for children aged 4 to 16 online, £20 and £10 on the gate. We will add it here if a 2026 date is announced.
