York Pride returns to the Knavesmire on Saturday 5 June 2027, free to attend, with a city centre parade, after a 2026 festival that drew over 30,000 people.

York Pride will be held on Saturday 5 June 2027, back on the Knavesmire, and the main event will again be free to attend, the charity has announced.

The date is already on the countdown clock on York Pride’s website, which reads “Saturday 5 June 2027”.

It follows what the organisers call a record-breaking 2026 festival, which they say attracted more than 30,000 people to the event itself and brought more than 100,000 visitors into the wider city. York Pride describes the festival as the largest of its kind in North Yorkshire.

What the day will include

As in previous years, the day starts with the parade through the city centre and moves on to the Knavesmire for live entertainment from “local artists and national treasures”, charity and community stalls, and family activities.

Will Bosanquet, festival director of York Pride, said: “After the incredible success highlighted in our 2026 impact report, we are thrilled to lock in June 5th for next year’s celebration.

“We are incredibly grateful for the ongoing backing from our partners, sponsors, supporters, local businesses, and our amazing volunteers who make this vital celebration possible. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back to make 2027 our most inclusive and vibrant year yet.”

The charity’s 2026 impact report is on its website.

Award shortlist

The volunteer team behind the festival has been shortlisted for Event of the Year awards with Visit York, York Mix and The Yorkshire Post, according to the charity.

Line-up, wristbands and stalls to follow

Headline acts, stage line-ups, wristband sales, and registration for stalls and the parade will be announced “in the coming months”, York Pride said, and it is asking supporters to follow its social media accounts for updates.

Volunteering is also coming: when we checked on 30 October 2026, York Pride’s website said volunteer applications for 2027 “will open soon”; there is a volunteer page to watch.

York Pride is a registered charity which works to promote equality and diversity and to end discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation and gender identity. Alongside the festival, it carries out advocacy work through the year across York and North Yorkshire.
