Dates and session times

York Barbican’s listing has two sessions on each of the nine days, at 1pm and 7pm, from Saturday 28 November to Sunday 6 December. The tournament is one of snooker’s Triple Crown events, with the Masters and the World Championship, and was first staged in 1977. It will be shown on BBC, TNT Sports and WST Play (York Barbican).

The Barbican does not yet say which round falls on which day. Last year’s event, the same nine-day shape a day later in the calendar, ran like this (World Snooker Tour 2025 price list):

2025 days Round Tables
Saturday to Tuesday Last 32 Two
Wednesday and Thursday Last 16 Two
Friday Quarter-finals Two
Saturday Semi-finals One
Sunday Final One

If 2026 follows the same pattern, the final is on Sunday 6 December. We will confirm it here when the organisers publish this year’s schedule.

Tickets and prices

Tickets are sold through the Buy Tickets button on York Barbican’s page, and a booking fee applies. The Barbican says day tickets are available and there are concessions for seniors, students and NHS workers. For accessible tickets you must first register for a Nimbus Disability Access Card.

The 2026 prices were not on the Barbican or World Snooker Tour public pages on 15 October. For a guide, these were the 2025 prices for a standard seat, excluding booking fees (World Snooker Tour 2025 price list):

2025 session Standard seat Premium seat (front two rows)
Last 32 and last 16, any session £30 £68
Quarter-finals £45 (afternoon), £50 (evening) £83, £88
Semi-finals £55 £93
Final £60 (afternoon), £65 (evening) £98, £103

Concessions started at £22 a session last year, and the 1875 VIP package, with front-row seats, a three-course meal and a photo with the trophy, ran from £240 to £335. Seating was reserved throughout.

Resale sites list York sessions well above these prices; the Barbican’s own link is the way to buy at face value.

The qualifiers in Leicester

Players outside the top 16 have to qualify first, at the Mattioli Arena in Leicester from Saturday 21 to Thursday 26 November. Tickets there are £12 for a whole day, and the last two days, 25 and 26 November, decide who goes to York. World Snooker Tour names possible qualifiers including Ding Junhui, Jak Jones, Luca Brecel and Jimmy White (World Snooker Tour, 24 September 2026).

Getting there and parking

York Barbican is on Paragon Street, YO10 4AH. Evening sessions start at 7pm and can run late, so check your last bus or train before you go. Car park prices and the nearest council car parks are on our parking in York page, and roadworks around the city are on roadworks and travel.

The opening weekend clashes with the start of York’s Christmas season: the Christmas Market is running and the Minster lights its tree festival on 28 November. See what’s on in York and York Christmas Market for the rest.

Still to come

  • The 2026 ticket prices by round.
  • The day-by-day schedule and the draw, after qualifying ends on 26 November.

We will add both as they are published.
